Who can apply for project grants or scholarships?

Requests may be submitted by:

  • independent not-for-profit organisations or groups based in New Zealand
  • New Zealand citizens based in New Zealand or permanent residents based in New Zealand.

Scholarship requests may be submitted by:

  • New Zealand citizens based in New Zealand or permanent residents based in New Zealand who are enrolled, or intend to enroll, in Masters degree (or higher) at a New Zealand tertiary institution during the period that the scholarship is sought.  If the specialist subject is not offered or avaliable in a New Zealand tertiary institution the Trust may consider funding study at a non-New Zealand tertiary institution.

All requests must be made using the online system and submitted by the closing date with any supporting documents needed for your project or scholarship request to be complete. Organisations need to provide supporting documents for both the organisation profile and the request form. If you have previously received a grant from this fund, you are required to provide an interim or full report on how the funding was used with your application, and your most recent financial statements if your application is from an organisation or group. Please refer to the 'Supporting Documentation' in the online system for further information.

Please check that you have the correct and final version of all supporting documents available online when you submit your request.
Incomplete requests are not considered for funding.
