What does Lottery Community Facilities provide grants for?

Lottery Community Facilities provides grants:

to improve or build new community facilities, or
for feasibility studies to work out if plans to improve or build community facilities can be achieved and will benefit the community.

The aim is to get more people involved in community and social activities, and to strengthen communities and bring people together by helping to develop their community facilities.

Lottery Community Facilities is for projects where the total project cost is over $50,000.

Requests for funding of projects where the total cost is $50,000 or less should be made to Lottery Community.

What is a community facility?

Please note that for the 2023/24 financial year the Lottery Community Facilities Committee has 46% less funding available compared with the previous year. Unfortunately, this means the committee will not be able to fund as many requests as last year and is unlikely to make grants to the same levels it has previously.

As well as community centres or community buildings, a community facility may be a stadium, performing arts complex, community swimming pool, aquatic centre, skate or dirt park, or a capital works project that improves local digital accessibility.

Grant requests should show that what you are planning will be used by a local, regional or national community.
